Introduction

To make English learning a fun and memorable experience, I organize immersive learning activities such as game shows, debates, discussions, and role plays. For example, I could organize a debate on “social media is more harmful than beneficial”. The students could then be divided into two groups where each would make arguments both against and for the motion, leading to a lively debate.

Creative Writing

To enhance students’ writing skills, I encourage them to write creatively. I could ask students to write an article, a short story, or a poem. This approach is particularly useful for students who struggle with conventional writing exercises. For example, I could ask students to write a science fiction story or ask them to create a poem about a walk in the forest.

Listening Comprehension

To improve students’ listening skills, I include exercises on listening comprehension. An example of a listening comprehension exercise could be a listening task where students have to listen to a phone conversation between two people and answer comprehension questions about the conversation. This approach helps to improve students’ vocabulary, grammar, and verbal reasoning.

Reading and Analysis of Literature

To cultivate students’ love for literature, I encourage students to read English literature such as novels, plays, poems, and essays. I often like to use interactive reading tasks such as book clubs, where students could form a group to read and analyze a book or a play and then discuss it in class. This approach helps to improve students’ critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and cultural awareness.

This teaching plan aims to provide an effective solution to the problem of students finding English classes boring. Through immersive teaching methods, students’ listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills will be improved. Using this plan, English classes can become an interactive and joyful learning experience, thereby fostering a love for the English language and literature. I believe that with this plan, students are better equipped to not only succeed in English class, but in their lives beyond the classroom as well.
